About The Position

Support accounting operations and internal and external financial and regulatory reporting requirements in a dynamic environment within SMBC AD. The position supports workflow and processing across accounting areas and prepares internal and external financial and regulatory reports for various legal entities within SMBC AD. Work is tactical and follows prescribed U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards. Complex or unusual accounting transactions are escalated to the next level of management.

Requirements

Knowledge of financial and regulatory reporting, consolidated balance sheets, and general accounting practices, including U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
Experience creating financial statements, including footnotes, and working with external auditors.
Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close processes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Extensive Excel experience.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of Oracle Cloud GL and Alteryx.
CPA.

Responsibilities

Prepare and post U.S. GAAP month-end and daily journals required for book close or U.S. GAAP regulatory reporting.
Assist with daily reporting for Total CUSO Assets and Trading Assets/liabilities, as needed.
Prepare internal and external financial and regulatory reports, including audited financial statements and quarterly reporting packages.
Support Accounting Managers by executing various daily accounting tasks.
Coordinate with the Bank's accounting department on reporting requirements and projects.
Support month-end and quarter-end accounting close to ensure reporting compliance within SMBC AD.
Prepare monthly financial analytics, variance analyses, and management reporting packages.
Prepare month-end reconciliations.
Prepare tax-related reports and work with the Tax department to ensure internal and external tax compliance.
Conduct accounting research as needed.
Work on special projects and reports as needed.
