It’s Joyful Headless™, and it changes everything. This role involves working with Storyblok’s dynamic legal team and playing a vital role in day-to-day operations in the AMER region. The primary focus is leading SaaS sales contract negotiations—drafting, redlining, and closing enterprise agreements that enable Storyblok’s AMER sales team to move quickly and confidently. Responsibilities span advising on U.S. corporate, privacy, employment and labor law, and supporting product and cybersecurity compliance initiatives. The role requires managing legal projects independently, guiding business teams, and collaborating with external counsel as needed. While focused on the AMER region, it also supports legal initiatives in EMEA and APAC, contributing to global policies and aligning legal processes across regions. Additionally, it involves providing legal training, empowering team members to manage day-to-day legal tasks, and supporting legal leadership in executing strategic priorities and continuous improvement efforts. This role requires extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams, particularly Sales, Marketing, Partners, Product, and People, to provide practical, business-minded legal support.

Requirements

  • Law Degree and Bar Admission to at least one jurisdiction in the U.S.
  • 3+ years of experience with a primary focus on drafting, redlining, and negotiating sales contracts.
  • SaaS or fast-paced tech experience providing in-house support to enterprise sales teams is strongly preferred.
  • Prior negotiation experience with complex corporate agreements
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracting with deep expertise in sales contracts and legal processes
  • Excellent English language skills
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with high attention to detail and the ability to manage a high volume of contracts under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders including sales, finance, HR, and product teams
  • Skilled in providing concise legal advice to business teams
  • Ability to analyze the needs of different parties quickly and provide a creative solution
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of matters end-to-end, while operating effectively within a broader legal team structure
  • Understands and perform in complex legal and business processes
  • High motivation to build a project from scratch, rethink, and rework existing processes
  • Good organizational skills & well structured to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrates AI literacy, with the ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, decision-making, and quality of work while applying sound judgment and critical thinking

Nice To Haves

  • Broad and in-depth specialized knowledge of AMER legal framework plus some knowledge of EMEA and APAC topics would be preferred

Responsibilities

  • Draft, redline, negotiate, and own SaaS enterprise sales contracts as the primary focus of this role—including MSA, GTC/ToS, NDA, DPA, and other legal agreements—enabling the AMER sales team to close deals efficiently and with legal confidence
  • Advise on legal principles relating to data privacy, IP, information security, and corporate risk mitigation
  • Review and negotiate partnership agreements with our partners in AMER
  • Assist (globally) with review and negotiation of procurement and marketing contracts as needed
  • Be part of HR related projects & provide support for certain U.S. employment and labor law topics
  • Draft, review, and maintain company-wide policies in accordance with applicable legal requirements and organisational governance standards
  • Monitor and assess developments in applicable laws and regulations, advising the business on emerging legal risks and required adaptations to agreements, policies, or operational practices
  • Support in providing legal advice on new product initiatives & feature launches
  • Provide comprehensive legal training to different teams (e.g. prepare and structure the information for training)
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of cross-functional legal projects across multiple business regions, ensuring coherent alignment with applicable regulatory frameworks, local counsel, and key business stakeholders
  • Identify, scope, and lead improvement initiatives across legal functions where operational, compliance, or process gaps have been identified, driving projects from diagnosis through to implementation
  • Support the continuous improvement of legal processes, templates, and governance frameworks, ensuring consistency and best practice adoption across the organisation
  • Support the legal team to build and maintain documentation for the whole team
  • Support the legal team across a range of administrative functions and project-based work, adapting to evolving priorities and business needs
  • Provide accurate and concise legal research for topics requested from the team
  • Be an active part in our yearly legal review and legal improvement process - support in preparing the agenda & documentation as per the instructions of the legal team manager
