Legal Counsel

TriEdge InvestmentsNew York, NY
$160,000 - $210,000Hybrid

About The Position

TriEdge Investments operates at the intersection of private capital and frontier technology. We need an attorney who wants to build something, not maintain it — someone who can hold the legal complexity of an active family office, advise teams directly, and grow into new challenges as the firm does. You translate complexity into practical advice. You're at home across fund operations, governance, and technology-facing legal questions. You can negotiate commercial agreements and are comfortable with data privacy clauses, and you move fast without cutting corners. You understand how AI products work, and you are excited to use proprietary AI solutions.

Requirements

  • 4+ years across in-house and top law firm environments.
  • J.D. or equivalent degree required; active bar membership and eligibility to register as in-house counsel in New York required.
  • A simplifier — you give direct answers and don't hide behind hedged language.
  • A builder — you get more satisfaction from the first playbook you draft than the tenth contract you redline.
  • Genuinely curious about how AI products are built, sold, and regulated — and you stay ahead of the frameworks before they become urgent.
  • Low ego, high ownership. You know what you don't know, escalate when you should, and find ways to move forward anyway.

Responsibilities

  • Support the build of the firm’s legal and compliance foundation. Policies, data protection frameworks, investment documentation, regulatory obligations, internal controls — you build and evolve the infrastructure that lets the firm scale.
  • Advise cross-functional teams on a multitude of legal issues. Governance, product initiatives, marketing and sales operations, compliance, emerging AI law, international expansion — you know what matters and can explain why clearly.
  • Be the go-to resource on the legal frameworks shaping AI products: AI specific regulation, privacy obligations, intellectual property, commercial obligations, regulatory and international risk. Establish and maintain all product-related legal documentation, such as terms of service, privacy policies or template contracts.
  • Build for leverage. Design the templates, playbooks, and self-service resources that let the broader team move confidently — and free you up for the next hard problem.
  • Negotiate and close. Draft and negotiate commercial agreements, DPAs, and transactional documents with the judgment to push where it matters and the practicality to keep things moving.

Benefits

  • 100% Employer covered Health, Vision, and Dental with a $0 deductible.
  • 401k matching program
  • Beautiful custom-built office with daily lunch
  • Annual performance bonus
