About The Position

This specific role is for a Legal Assistant to support the Health Law and Personal Injury legal teams in the London, Ontario office. The position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of 3 days in the office or as needed. The application deadline is May 14, 2026, at 11:59 PM.

Requirements

  • At least three (3) years of experience as a Legal Assistant.
  • Deep familiarity with the Rules of Civil Procedure, particularly as it pertains to service rules and deadlines.
  • A keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • A strong work ethic.
  • The ability to work effectively on a team and individually.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with technology and working in a remote/ hybrid environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in health law and/or personal injury is an asset.
  • Experience with Primafact, Case Center, ACL, and a Document Management System (iManage) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Answering the telephone, scheduling conference calls and appointments.
  • Requesting conflict checks, opening and closing files.
  • Communicating with clients, experts, service providers and the courts.
  • Drafting, sending, and replying to correspondence.
  • Proofreading and formatting correspondence and other documents.
  • Compiling, serving and filing motion records and other court documents.
  • Maintaining calendars and an effective bring forward (BF) system.
  • Scheduling examinations for discovery.
  • Entering dockets and assisting with the preparation of monthly accounts to clients.
  • Assisting with the preparation and electronic filing of various court materials (e.g. pleadings, trial records and motion materials).
  • Requesting cheques, paying invoices.
  • Filing correspondence and ongoing file maintenance and scanning into DMS (document management system).
  • Organizing and submitting expense reports.
  • Review, edit, transcribe dictations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
