About The Position

The Albany office of Cullen and Dykman LLP, a full-service law firm established in 1850, is seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join its Corporate Practice Group. Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant experience, in a law firm preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
  • High proficiency with Adobe software and document management.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize, work independently, and manage competing deadlines.
  • Professional judgment, problem solving ability, and strong decision-making skills.
  • Proactiveness, resourcefulness, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with internal and external clients.
  • Ability to work overtime, as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with New York State Public Service Commission and/or State and Federal Court filing procedures and rules preferred but not required.
  • Four-year college degree preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and organizational support to multiple attorneys within the energy, corporate and labor and employment practice.
  • Prepare, edit, and file pleadings, motions, affidavits, answers, discovery documents, and other legal correspondence relating to State and Federal Court filings and in administrative regulation matters.
  • Maintain and manage calendars, including filing deadlines and scheduling matters.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, internal staff, and external parties.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical files, schedules, and matter related information.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications, including mail, emails, calls, and case related materials.
  • Assist attorneys and staff with day-to-day tasks, ensuring timely and accurate completion of assignments.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
