Reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, the Legal Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing legal and administrative support to the Legal team at Bennington. This position assists in a variety of areas including assisting the Senior Legal team in diverse litigation activities.

Requirements

  • The successful candidate must be organized, accurate and detail oriented.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) is essential.
  • A college diploma/certificate in Legal Administration or Law Clerk is preferred, or alternatively, equivalent work experience
  • Commitment to learning legal concepts (reading materials, webinars, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of the leasing or finance industry is considered an asset.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is also considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with general administrative tasks within the department as requested
  • Prepare correspondence to various parties
  • Assist with steps involved in the litigation process
  • Manage incoming mail and administering the Legal ticket system
  • Perform various searches as requested
  • Perform other clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, collating, and ensuring that all local photocopiers are filled
  • Other related duties as requested by the immediate supervisor or General Counsel
