Washburn University's Harmony J. Hines School of Nursing seeks a Lecturer to begin January 1, 2027. This is a nine-month, non-tenure-track appointment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching excellence, including inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners, and provide clinical oversight. The position may be converted to tenure track after three years; a completed doctorate is required for a tenure-track appointment. If converted and hired into that position, the faculty member will assume tenure-track responsibilities, including scholarship and the teaching workload described in the faculty handbook. The Lecturer will teach a 12-hour faculty workload per semester and develop and teach undergraduate classes and seminars as assigned, potentially including classroom, clinical, and simulation instruction. The person will collaborate with nursing faculty to plan and teach BSN content aligned with the AACN Essentials (2021), Kansas State Board of Nursing requirements, and the School of Nursing's mission. The role also includes evaluating student work, overseeing clinical learning, assisting with in-person and virtual simulation, advising students, and participating in departmental, university, and professional service. Washburn University is a teaching-focused, student-centered public institution in Topeka, Kansas, with just over 7,000 students. The university describes its programs as high-impact, including for first-generation students, and emphasizes inclusion, modernization, partnership, achievement, community, and transformation. It reports employing more than 1,000 faculty and staff and offering competitive wages, benefits, a supportive culture, and work/life balance.
