About The Position

Washburn University's Harmony J. Hines School of Nursing seeks a Lecturer for a nine-month, non-tenure-track appointment beginning January 1, 2027. The lecturer will teach undergraduate nursing classes and seminars as assigned, with a 12-hour faculty workload per semester. Teaching may include classroom, clinical, and simulation instruction, depending on department needs and the candidate’s training and interests. The role includes clinical oversight and a commitment to teaching excellence through inclusive practices that engage all learners. The lecturer will collaborate with nursing faculty to plan and teach BSN content aligned with the AACN Essentials (2021), Kansas State Board of Nursing requirements, and the School of Nursing’s mission. The role also involves evaluating student work, overseeing student learning at clinical sites, supporting simulated learning experiences, advising students, and participating in departmental, university, and professional service. The appointment may be converted to a tenure-track position after three years. A completed doctorate is required for a tenure-track appointment. If converted and hired into the tenure-track role, the incumbent would assume the expectations of that appointment, including scholarship and teaching workload as described in the faculty handbook. Additional job-related duties may be assigned.
