About The Position

The Department of English at the University of Central Oklahoma seeks a One-Year, Full-Time Lecturer for the 2026-2027 academic year. Nice To Haves

At least two years of experience teaching First-Year Composition in a college or university setting.

Responsibilities

Teaches, advises, and mentors students.

Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty.
Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested.
Teaches 15 credit-hours per semester (typically five 3-credit courses or a combination of paired 3-credit courses and 2-credit developmental courses).
Primary teaching responsibilities could include Developmental English and First-Year Composition.
May teach concurrent sections of First-Year Composition off-site in local high schools.
May be assigned courses in other areas as departmental need requires.
