About The Position

The Department of English at the University of Central Oklahoma seeks a One-Year, Full-Time Lecturer for the 2026-2027 academic year. The department is committed to recruiting and maintaining a diverse faculty and creating a welcoming environment for all. The position involves teaching, advising, and mentoring students, evaluating student performance, and maintaining department and student records in accordance with university policies. Requirements

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Teaches, advises, and mentors students.

  • Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty.
  • Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested.
  • Teaches 15 credit-hours per semester (typically five 3-credit courses or a combination of paired 3-credit courses and 2-credit developmental courses).
  • Primary teaching responsibilities could include Developmental English and First-Year Composition.
  • May teach concurrent sections of First-Year Composition off-site in local high schools.
  • May be assigned courses in other areas as departmental need requires.
