About The Position

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Lecturer starting August 3, 2026. The Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students, performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities in a timely manner and in accordance with the mission, policies and procedures of the college. The relationship of the lecturer faculty member to the student is one of teacher and facilitator of learning. The Lecturer teaches, advises and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies. The Lecturer adheres to the educational philosophy of the university, works in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers, participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty, serves on department, colleges, and university committees as requested, and prepares departmental reports as requested.

Requirements

  • An earned master’s degree awarded by a regionally accredited or international recognized institution in the field specified in the position announcement (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).
  • Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other faculty and staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Teaching experience in mathematics or statistics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teaches day/evening introductory mathematics courses such as Mathematics for General Education, Applied Algebra and Plane Trigonometry.
  • Service responsibilities could possibly include coordinating the Drill sessions for Calculus 1.
  • Teaching and departmental/school and university service is expected.
  • Advises and mentors students.
  • Evaluates student performance.
  • Maintains department and student records in accordance with university policies.
