About The Position
Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) is seeking candidates committed to innovative teaching and meaningful service for a full-time, temporary (non-tenurable) distance education faculty position at the rank of lecturer in the Department of Management. This is a one-year temporary appointment that may be renewed annually based on funding, need, and performance. The successful applicant will teach online general management courses and master’s-level courses in the Master of Science in Management and Master of Professional Studies degree programs. The position requires the online lecturer to be regularly and predictably available to online students, both in class and during office hours, equivalent to on-campus lecturer requirements. The candidate must be a resident of Tennessee by the appointment date and will be required to attend department meetings and meet with the department chair or MTSU administration as requested. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the faculty member. The online lecturer must complete the required training course offered by MTSU Online before teaching online courses.
Requirements
- A terminal degree in business or a closely related social or behavioral science program, with a specialization in management, organizational behavior, leadership, human resources, industrial and organizational psychology, or a closely related field, is required by the appointment date.
- Candidates who are ABD (all but dissertation) are eligible and will be considered.
- Must be a resident of Tennessee by the appointment date.
