About The Position

The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking qualified Lecturers to join the College of Education's Department of Counseling and Human Services. This is an evergreen pool for temporary, non-tenure track positions, with appointments made semester-by-semester. The role involves teaching graduate and/or undergraduate Counseling and Human Services classes, with graduate classes aligning with CACREP standards and undergraduate courses meeting Council for Standards in Human Services standards. Classes are primarily in-person on campus but may also be offered in hybrid, weekend intensive, and other formats. This position is open only to Colorado state residents or those intending to reside in Colorado while employed.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling or a closely related field is required
  • Relevant license as a Licensed Professional, Addictions, or School Counselor is required
  • Professional experience in the specific course content area is required

Nice To Haves

  • The ideal candidate has a terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision
  • Experience teaching in a CACREP accredited counseling program is highly desirable

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned course in assigned course modality
  • Develop syllabus for course using College of Education accessible course template
  • Complete necessary trainings as determined by Department, College, and/or University
  • Develop, maintain, and utilize Canvas shell for duration of the course
  • Ensure Canvas shell meets accessibility standards
  • Assess student assignments and submit final grades by deadline in Canvas and CU-SIS
  • Inform program faculty director and/or department chair of student issues and concerns in a timely manner
