About The Position

The University of Colorado Denver, College of Engineering, Design and Computing, seeks individuals with demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive learning and working environment. This posting establishes a pool of candidates to fill temporary, non-tenure track lecturer positions to teach one or more undergraduate level courses as needed in the following departments: College of Engineering, Design and Computing Dean’s Office, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering and Construction, Department of Mechanical Engineering. Positions are part-time semester-by-semester basis for AY26/27. Courses will vary from term to term and may include required courses, technical electives or labs. Assignments are dependent upon student enrollments and are paid on a per course basis. There are no travel and relocation expenses available.

Requirements

  • A Master of Science in Engineering or a related field is required for teaching undergraduate level courses.
  • A PhD in Engineering or a related field is required for teaching graduate level courses.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related field is required to teach undergraduate labs.
  • A combination of a bachelor's degree and 5 years of directly related experience may be substituted for the master's degree.
  • A combination of a master's degree and 5 years of related experience may be substituted for the PhD.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with teaching experience in the higher education environment are preferred.
  • Candidates with research or industrial experience in a related discipline are preferred.
  • A professional engineering license is preferred.
  • Candidates residing within proximity to campus are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach one to three classes as assigned per term.
  • Prepare for each class session and deliver balanced, rigorous lessons via Canvas and Zoom in accordance with prescribed curricular objectives and outcomes.
  • Hold weekly office hours as appropriate per course allocation.
  • Assess student progress according to curricular objectives and adhere to program policies.
  • Record attendance and grades online and be accessible for communication with students.
