About The Position

The Department of Strategic Communication at Ithaca College is establishing a pool of qualified candidates for part-time lecturer positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. The department seeks to fill openings in areas such as Public Relations, Event Management, Advertising, Media Planning, Visualization/Graphic Design, International Communications, and Research Methods. The college prioritizes candidates with a history of successful college teaching and a dedication to professional preparation within a liberal arts framework. They are particularly interested in candidates who can contribute to the diversity of the academic community.

Requirements

  • Terminal degree (Ph.D., M.F.A., or M.B.A.) or nonterminal master’s degree preferred.
  • Applicants with an undergraduate degree in a public relations or advertising-related area of strategic communication and substantial industry experience may also be considered.
  • A record of successful college teaching.
  • Commitment to professional preparation within the context of an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education.
  • Experience that contributes to the diversity of the college is appreciated.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the professional preparation of students within an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education.
