About The Position

The Department of Strategic Communication at Ithaca College is seeking to build a pool of qualified candidates for part-time lecturer positions for the 2026-2027 academic year. The department anticipates openings in various areas within strategic communication, potentially including Public Relations, Event Management, Advertising, Media Planning, Visualization/Graphic Design, International Communications, and Research Methods. All faculty members are covered by a collective bargaining agreement. This position is subject to a criminal background check, and visa sponsorship is not provided.

Requirements

Terminal degree (Ph.D., M.F.A., or M.B.A.) or nonterminal master’s degree preferred.
Applicants with an undergraduate degree in a public relations or advertising-related area of strategic communication and substantial industry experience may also be considered.
A record of successful college teaching.
Commitment to professional preparation within the context of an interdisciplinary and immersive liberal arts education.
A wide variety of specialties will be considered including, but not limited to, strategic planning, account management, event/experiential marketing, art direction/graphic design, and audience/media research.

Responsibilities

Teach courses in areas such as Public Relations, Event Management, Advertising, Media Planning, Visualization/Graphic Design, International Communications, and Research Methods.
