About The Position

Lecturer applicant pool for Academic Year 2026-2027. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funding. Must be available to teach courses during the day, evening, weekend, and/or via distance learning, as needed.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Sociology or closely related discipline.
• Ability to teach the assigned course(s).
• Teaching or work experience in Sociology.

Nice To Haves

• Doctoral degree in Sociology or closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching Sociology courses.
• Demonstrated ability to teach courses in the areas of Social Problems, Social Stratification, and other topics.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in the discipline.
• Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
• Maintain a minimum of 1 office hour per week for each course taught.
• Work under the supervision of department and division chairpersons in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
