About The Position

The Department of Dance at The Ohio State University seeks a Lecturer to teach Dance 1161 Tap 1 in Autumn 2026 and Autumn 2027. Responsibilities include teaching assigned courses, preparing syllabi and course materials, holding office hours, grading assignments, submitting grades by deadlines, and communicating regularly with students. The role involves planning and organizing instruction to maximize student learning, meeting scheduled classes and office hours, ensuring curriculum implementation, preparing and evaluating student work in a timely manner, maintaining accurate student progress records, and submitting final grade rosters. Confidentiality of student information must be maintained in accordance with FERPA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Classroom teaching experience required

Responsibilities

• Planning and organizing instruction in ways which maximize student learning
• Meeting scheduled classes and office hours in accordance with university policy
• Ensuring curriculum implementation and course preparation in accordance with department standards
• Preparing homework and exams, evaluating, and returning student work in a timely manner to promote learning
• Maintaining accurate records of students’ progress and submitting final grade roster in accordance with established university deadlines
• Maintaining confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA
• Prepares syllabi and course materials for assigned courses
• Holds office hours
• Grades assignments and submits grades by deadlines
• Communicates regularly with students
