About The Position

The School of Music at The Ohio State University seeks a Lecturer to teach Music 2208.05 (Brass Small Ensemble) and 19 one-hour weekly applied trombone lessons in Autumn 2026. Responsibilities include preparing syllabi and course materials, holding office hours, grading assignments, submitting grades by deadlines, and communicating regularly with students. The role involves planning and organizing instruction to maximize student learning, meeting scheduled classes and office hours, ensuring curriculum implementation and course preparation, preparing and evaluating student work in a timely manner, and maintaining accurate student progress records and submitting final grades according to university deadlines, while upholding FERPA confidentiality standards.

Responsibilities

• Teach Music 2208.05 (Brass Small Ensemble)
• Teach 19 one-hour weekly applied trombone lessons
• Prepare syllabi and course materials for assigned courses
• Hold office hours
• Grade assignments
• Submit grades by deadlines
• Communicate regularly with students
• Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning
