2026-27 Lecturer Pool for Ethnic Studies (Chicano/a/x and Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies)
About The Position
The Department of Ethnic Studies at California State University Bakersfield accepts applications on an ongoing basis for its pool of part-time lecturers. Applicant pools are used to fill short-term temporary Lecturer positions across the campus with the possibility of rehiring. Appointments may last from one day to a whole semester. This applicant pool may be used to fill vacant positions on an as-needed basis throughout the academic year. Applications in this pool are valid for the current academic year only and will close effective May 31, 2027. A new application must be submitted each year for consideration for the following academic year.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Asian American Studies, or related field (for Asian American Studies)
- Master's degree in Pacific Studies, or related field (for Critical Pacific Islands & Oceania Studies)
- Master's degree in Chicana/o/x Studies or Latina/o/x Studies, or related field (for Chicana/o/x & Latina/o/x Studies)
Nice To Haves
- College/university teaching experience
- Doctorate degree in Asian American Studies, or related field
- Doctorate degree in Pacific Studies, or related field
- Doctorate degree in Chicana/o/x Studies or Latina/o/x Studies, or related field
Responsibilities
- Teach ETHS 1508 (Introduction to Chicana/o/x Studies)
- Teach ETHS 1308 (Introduction to Asian American and Pacific Islander Studies)
