About The Position

The College of Health, Education, and Social Transformation has a job opening for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Borderlands and Ethnic Studies – Native American Studies for the Borderlands and Ethnic Studies Department to begin Fall 2027. The faculty member must be able to provide undergraduate and graduate instruction in one or more of the department's three programs. The faculty member is required to publish/disseminate research and scholarly/creative productions aligned with their research agenda in one or more of the department's fields. They will also participate in faculty governance, strategic planning, curriculum review and development, student outcome assessment, and advisement of undergraduate and graduate students.

Requirements

  • Possess an earned doctorate degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Ethnic Studies, Chicana/o or Latino/x/e Studies, and/or Native American Studies.
  • Possess the ability to recruit and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Evidence of providing service to the professional and/or academic community.
