About The Position

The School of Professional Education and Community Engagement is seeking a Lecturer - Leadership Studies for a non-tenure track position. This role supports the expansion of high-impact, workforce-aligned programs, focusing on competency-based education, prior learning assessment, and community partnerships. The successful candidate will teach five courses per semester in the Leadership programs, participate in program assessment and curriculum review, and collaborate with faculty and staff. This is a 9-month position covering Fall and Spring semesters.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Adult Education, Educational Leadership, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience working with Adult Learners.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence in various instructional delivery modes (face-to-face, online, etc.) including utilizing online classroom management programs.
  • Demonstrated organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of computer applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database capabilities.
  • Minimum of 18 graduate SCH in Adult Education, Leadership, or closely related field.
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required at the time of hire.
  • No pre-employment sponsorship is authorized for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Terminal degree in Adult Education, Leadership, or closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Familiarity with Competency Based Education (CBE), Prior Learning Assessment, and/or other forms of non-traditional models.
  • Demonstrated experience in academic program design, delivery, and assessment.
  • Demonstrated experience with CBE design and delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Teach face-to-face, web-enhanced, and/or online courses (regular and accelerated) housed within the Leadership programs.
  • Support student success through communication systems supporting timely inquiry response and specific assignment feedback.
  • Provide academic advising within the support structure of the Leadership programs.
  • Serve on department, college and/or university committees, especially in areas benefiting post-traditional students and/or supporting PLA/CBE efforts.
  • Collaborate with community partners to support professional education offerings in Leadership.
