About The Position

The General Studies Program at the University of Louisville invites applications for a part-time lecturer position beginning January 1, 2027. The General Studies Program is housed within the College of Arts and Sciences and was created in 2021 to provide an opportunity for returning adult learners who previously stepped out of college with some credits to complete a degree. All students in the Program, no matter their program track, are required to take GNST303 Introduction to General Studies and the capstone course GNST401. Students wishing to claim credit for work experience may also take GNST305 Prior Learning Assessment. The appointee will be required to teach GNST303 and/or 401, both of which are currently offered as asynchronous online courses only. A demonstrable commitment to online instruction and working with the needs of returning adult learners is preferred. The General Studies Program should not be confused with the University’s General Education requirements. Requirements

Must have completed an M.A. by the time of appointment in one of the disciplines housed within UofL’s College of Arts and Sciences or College of Education and Human Development.
