About The Position

The Lazaridis School of Business & Economics (Lazaridis School) at Wilfrid Laurier University invites applications for a one-year Limited Term Appointment position, at the rank of Lecturer in the Strategic Management area, commencing September 1, 2026. The home campuses of the position are in Waterloo and Milton. The position is subject to final budgetary approval. The anticipated salary range is $89,919 to $130,000, with the actual salary to be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching core and elective Strategy, International Business, and Management courses in the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs, with a regular teaching load of 6 courses, and engaging in service activities for the Strategic Management area.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence at the undergraduate and/or graduate (MBA) levels: Applicants should demonstrate evidence of a strong teaching record through teaching evaluations, testimonials and/or letters of reference.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach a broad range of Strategic Management courses: Applicants should clearly identify their prior experience and ability in teaching Strategy, International Business, and Management.
  • Good knowledge of current strategy, management, and international business theories, concepts, analytical tools and practices.
  • Strong record of performance in utilizing learner-centered immersive and interactive teaching approaches (for example, case method).
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively instruct and engage a class composed of students with a wide variety of business course backgrounds and career/specialization interests.
  • Willingness and capacity to teach in any term as may be needed (Note: both BBA and MBA courses are offered across three terms – Fall, Winter, and Spring).
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with student management issues such as timely grade assessments and academic misconduct.
  • Demonstrated experience and willingness to work as part of a faculty teaching team to ensure consistency across classes in a multi-section, multi-term course including but not limited to teaching coordinated course content, meeting deadlines for drafting assignments and examinations, meeting deadlines for marking assignments and examinations, and meeting deadlines for return of assignments and examinations.
  • University-level experience teaching in a business school environment.
  • Willingness and capacity to take on substantial service responsibilities as may be required.
  • Strong commitment to collegiality, and ability and willingness to work collaboratively within the department and the broader academic community.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience that provided an understanding of the practice of general management and current strategic management issues facing organizations is an asset.
