About The Position

This role is for a Learning & Development Specialist who will support the organization in cultivating operational excellence and clinical care capabilities. The specialist will be a subject matter expert on aligning existing curricula with professional development, continuing education, and standardizing operating procedures. This role will also support content building and management for proprietary courses within the Learning Management System (LMS) and with other learning partners. The L&D Specialist will coordinate professional development programs to drive company growth by collaborating with various leadership teams to build and review content. The position is located at the corporate office in Southfield, MI, with a hybrid schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday in-office, and Wednesday/Friday remote.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Education, Human Resources, or any other related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years working experience in training and development.
  • Minimum of three (3) years facilitation experience (in person and virtual).
  • Must be able to travel 15%.
  • Proficient with Teams virtual training platform, including annotations, polls and other features to enhance engagement with virtual training.
  • Must be comfortable providing written and verbal communication that provides direction, requirements and follow up.
  • Proficient with technology: ability to learn and use a variety of computer systems, including MS Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and Smartsheet.
  • Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
  • Ability and passion for delivering professional and engaging presentations to small or large groups of people through various mediums (instructor-led, virtual and in-person).
  • Must have excellent organization, time and project management skills, with an ability to work independently and proactively.
  • Committed to excellence, strong work ethic and ability to multitask/manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with various learning types and training methods including; on-the-job, role play, lectures, instructor led (in person and virtual), synchronous and asynchronous e-learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in LMS content building in Adobe, Articulate 360 or similar systems is preferred.
  • Certification from talent or training associations is a plus.
  • Active participation in professional organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Help support our patient focused organization in cultivating our operational excellence and clinical care capabilities.
  • Align existing GEDC curricula with Office Builder Professional Development, Continuing Education (CE) and standardizing operating procedures across the enterprise.
  • Support the content building and management of proprietary courses with our LMS and other learning partners.
  • Coordinate professional development programs that drive company growth through the collaboration with Area Managers, Vice Presidents of Operations, Practice Support Center (PSC) Management and other Team Members to build new content and review current content.
  • Coordinate and help facilitate a variety of in-person and online professional development.
  • Schedule training sessions, book venues and set up virtual meetings through Teams and/or Outlook.
  • Partner with the Learning & Development team to review and organize current learning content resources and management of content in the LMS.
  • Coordinate and train existing Team Members to be able to effectively train their Team Members; provide feedback to Team Members who facilitate training for the organization to mentor and provide guidance regarding Learning & Development expectations for facilitators (Train the Trainer).
  • Work with the Learning & Development leadership and Area Operations Managers (AOMs) to plan visits to dental offices to see how dental offices operate and learn more about the heart of our business.
  • Collaborate with Operations Leadership and Practice Support Center (PSC) leaders to analyze data to identify both best practices and improvement opportunities to support a fully performing Team Member in every practice-based job.
  • Manage and report on attendance for meetings and courses provided.
  • Assist in system implementation, including but not limited to affiliation integration, software system conversions and upgrades, and workflow process implementation.
  • Coordinate and monitor enrollment, schedules, costs and equipment.
  • Support with institutionalizing the Provider Journey to provide a pathway for clinical mentorship, skill development, career progression, and continuing education.
  • All other tasks requested by the VP, Strategy & Operations.
