About The Position

The Senior Manager, Learning & Development will champion Helix Electric efforts to assess enterprise-wide developmental needs, set learning strategy and drive training initiatives that build organizational capability and business performance. This individual will be responsible for actively identifying opportunities, creatively designing solutions and implementing effective methods to educate, upskill, and enhance performance across the organization. Reporting to the Head of Learning and Organizational Development, the Senior Manager, Learning & Development will collaborate with business units to lead project deliverables and ensure alignment with strategic business objectives. This role will maintain high-quality standards in development for all methods of program delivery, while also providing leadership, governance, and oversight for key learning programs, initiatives and resources.

Requirements

8–10 years of learning and/or leadership development experience including developing, implementing and delivering training
Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Education, Business or a related field
Ability to partner with executive leaders to understand and translate business priorities into tangible people development initiatives and execute accordingly
Experience leading large-scale or enterprise learning/leadership development programs and initiatives
Experience managing projects, priorities, resources and budgets across multiple workstreams
Experience leading, coaching or supervising team members, project teams or cross-functional contributors
Experience performing in a fast-paced environment with measurable results
Proficient with MS Office Suite; tech-savvy; agility in learning new systems and software

Nice To Haves

Construction industry experience (or manufacturing, engineering, or construction adjacent) preferred
Experience with course authoring tools (Articulate 360 including Rise & Storyline, Camtasia) preferred

Responsibilities

Lead the development and execution of learning strategy, priorities and solutions aligned to business and organizational capability needs
Design and develop learning and leadership development programs, curriculum, and instructional materials in partnership with subject matter experts and external vendors
Collaborate with L&OD and the extended Learning and Development team to leverage existing resources, learning technologies and LMS capabilities
Monitor training activities, manage content and recommend solutions based on business needs
Measure the effectiveness for L&OD programs and use insights to improve impact, efficiency and learner experience
Partner with the Head of L&OD and business leaders on initiatives related to assessment, development, talent planning, succession support and career pathing
Lead key learning programs, including planning, prioritization, scheduling, resource coordination and budget oversight
Manage internal and external resources to support the development and delivery of training
Support ad hoc projects and organizational initiatives as needed
Travel as needed to regional offices, jobsites, meetings, and training events- ~ 30%
Design high quality, sustainable learning and leadership development solutions across a variety of formats, leveraging technology and external resources where appropriate
Conduct needs assessments and collaborate with subject matter experts, business leaders and instructional designers on content development
Align learning approaches with course objectives, learner needs and business outcomes
Ensure learning solutions reflect strong adult learning principles, consistency, scalability, and measurable outcomes
Establish credibility with field operations, operations management, the executive team and support service groups
Facilitate learning experiences that engage participants and support skill development
Deliver learning events in areas of proficiency, including behavioral, leadership, and professional development topic
Coach facilitators, presenters, and internal subject matter experts to strengthen training effectiveness
Oversee key learning offerings and programs, on-site and virtual event planning, and the scheduling of learning activities
Coordinate dependencies across L&OD projects and programs to support on-time delivery and effective use of resources
Proactively communicate risks, issues and changes affecting deliverables, funding or direction
Evaluate programs and implement improvements based on feedback, outcomes and business needs
Use the LMS to manage training administration and learner data, compliance and certifications
Develop and test innovative learning solutions within the LMS to improve value and efficiency
Recommend improvements to learning systems, tools and reporting capabilities
