About The Position
The Donelson-Hermitage YMCA is seeking a part-time Learn to Swim Instructor for midday shifts. This role involves creating a fun, safe, and encouraging environment to teach life-changing water safety and swim skills. The instructor will help swimmers build confidence in the water and join a team that values connection, growth, and making a positive impact.
Requirements
- Minimum Age: 16
- Passion for helping others learn and grow
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Intermediate swimming ability
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
Nice To Haves
- Lifeguard and Swim Instructor certifications preferred
Responsibilities
- Teach swim lessons with energy, enthusiasm, and encouragement
- Ensure the safety and success of all class participants
- Provide feedback to swimmers and communicate progress with parents
- Create engaging lesson plans and help participants build confidence in the water
- Support a welcoming, positive YMCA experience for every swimmer and family
