About The Position

Coordinate after school program to enrich students' educational experiences that allows them to meet their full potential. Provide overall program management to help students demonstrate growth in Math and Reading/Language Arts skills, including improving positive behavior changes and school attendance to support academic growth.

Requirements

  • Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to assist and guide students to reinforce math, reading/language arts, STEM, and other skills.
  • Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
  • Ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff and others contacted in the course of work.
  • Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of Para Pro test or an Associate Degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with students is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall on-site management of the after-school program and compliance with State guidelines
  • Supervises on-site extended learning staff
  • Plans weekly/monthly activity schedule and maintains enrollment data and records
  • Submits timesheets and expense receipts and reports achievement and disciplinary data for each student to administration
  • Resolves conflicts with students, parents, and staff members
  • Trains staff in safety procedures and CPR
  • Implements and documents monthly safety drills, including fire, tornado, and lockdown
  • Ensures site program meets all State-mandated requirements (i.e., site minimum hours per week of services)
  • Completes and submits food and nutrition service records
  • Ensures site participant data is accurate in the student management system
  • Assist guidance, pupil services staff or building administration, as needed.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.
