About The Position

Maple Lake Academy is seeking energetic, compassionate individuals for a Lead Mentor role, supporting teenage boys with Autism in a structured, supportive, and growth-focused school and community environment. This role involves providing classroom and structured support during non-school hours, building meaningful connections with students, and collaborating with a team. The Lead Mentor will guide students in their academic and personal development, focusing on life and social skills. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 6+ months as a Mentor at Maple Lake Academy or similar program preferred.
  • 21 years or older (to be able to drive company vehicles), or turning 21 within the next few months.
  • Acceptable Driving Record.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check upon accepting an offer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support during school hours.
  • Provide structured support during non-school hours.
  • Build meaningful connections with students.
  • Collaborate with a strong, caring team.
  • Guide students in their academic and personal development with life skills and social skills.
  • Assist and support the Shift Manager on shift in diverse tasks and responsibilities ensuring the continual improvement of the residential program.
  • Lead by example, be approachable and foster trust from and in other staff members.
  • Drive and respect accountability.
  • Communicate regularly, debrief situations with people, and check in with them to provide support and training.
  • Focus on self-development and learning, and on the development of their people.
  • Be organized, supportive of the Shift Manager, and willing to make decisions independently and as a team.
