About The Position

Rite of Passage Team is hiring for Youth Mentor at Woodford Group Home in Mishawaka Indiana. Woodford Home is located on 27th Street off Mishawaka Ave. in South Bend, Indiana. It is situated close to public transportation, a public library and a public university. The Woodford Home serves male youth with a history of delinquent behaviors, mild mental health issues, abuse, neglect and trauma needs who are transitioning back to the community from a residential placement. Woodford Home is licensed by Indiana Department of Child Services as a Child Caring Institution (CCI) serving up to 15 male youth between the ages of 14-21. The Woodford Home provides a safe therapeutic home for young men returning to the community from a residential placement. It is operated by Rite of Passage, Inc. After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people to become successful adults. Requirements

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Be at least 21 years of age
Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test
Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry

Responsibilities

Provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility.
Provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development.
Provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs.
Monitor and document behaviors and activities.
Participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities.
Collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.
