About The Position

As part of GE Vernova’s Wind Global Machine Head Yaw subsystem team, the Lead Yaw System Mechanical Design Engineer owns hardware for utility-scale wind turbine mechanical rotating components. The role focuses on hydraulic and passive mechanical braking systems across their full lifecycle, from conceptual and detailed design through development, testing, qualification, manufacturing, and installed-fleet support. The engineer drives technical excellence and continuous improvement in component design, analysis, cost, and reliability. The position involves new product introduction, technology integration, and field issue resolution, with a strong emphasis on quality and reliability validated through physical testing. It includes designing yaw subsystem components, developing validation plans, maintaining design documentation and standards, collaborating across functions and with suppliers, supporting manufacturing and field issue resolution, and identifying cost savings and technology improvements. U.S. work authorization is required. Relocation assistance is provided. The position may require travel up to 10%.
