About The Position
Modern Animal is hiring a Lead Veterinarian to lead a veterinary team and help deliver high-quality general practice care. The role combines excellent medical practice with mentoring associate veterinarians, supporting the care team, and collaborating with the clinic manager to improve clinic performance and team development. The organization emphasizes modern clinic environments, virtual and in-clinic support, structured single-flow shifts, individualized onboarding, technology that reduces administrative work, and a supportive, blame-free culture. The position is located in Ocean Park, California, in the Los Angeles area. Base salary is $170,000–$200,000, with a sign-on bonus and equity grant units potentially included in the compensation package.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience as a veterinarian.
- Graduate of an AVMA-accredited veterinary school or completion of the requirements to practice in the United States.
- Active California license to practice veterinary medicine at the start of employment.
- License must be in good standing, with no malpractice or disciplinary actions.

- At least 1 year of experience managing and leading teams of veterinarians.

- Lead a team of veterinarians by modeling excellent medical practice.
- Mentor associate doctors to improve individual performance in client satisfaction, teamwork, medical quality, record keeping, and efficiency.

- Collaborate with the clinic manager to drive clinic performance in medical quality, member experience, and employee engagement while fostering continuous learning and development.

- Lead and participate in initiatives that support clinical team well-being and help make veterinary work joyful and sustainable.
