This position offers the opportunity to apply and expand knowledge of underground transmission line engineering, including routing, duct bank configurations, manhole placement, and electrical principles. The role involves designing complex underground transmission lines for voltages up to 500kV, conducting cost analyses, developing design criteria, siting and routing in complex environments, and determining manhole placement. Responsibilities include physical design such as duct bank layouts, trenchless designs, cable pulling calculations, and developing drawing packages. The engineer will also be responsible for cable selection studies, determining bonding schemes, and performing ampacity calculations. Additionally, the role involves developing riser structure configurations and structural loading, creating specifications for cable procurement, duct bank installation, trenchless installation, and general construction. Collaboration with vendors and clients to specify transmission line components and directing a project team of engineers, designers, and drafters are key aspects of this position. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement, with three days in the office and two days remote. A relocation package is available depending on location.
