About The Position

The Lead Therapist facilitates and manages all duties and responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Therapist. This role serves as the clinical lead on the treatment unit and acts as the designated clinical resource in consultation with a supervisor. Responsibilities include facilitating daily multi-disciplinary treatment team meetings, tracking sheets, case reviews, conflict resolution, family conferences, and clinical consultation to ensure the achievement of unit and individual goals. The Lead Therapist also facilitates weekly group supervision (potentially in combination with a supervisor), provides individual clinical supervision and professional development support to interns and designated clinical staff, and takes an active role in performance evaluations through consultation and feedback. This position involves administrative oversight of the unit, including patient assignments, group coverage, monthly lecture schedules, and management of off-campus meetings and activities. The Lead Therapist provides leadership and consultation in crisis situations, assists staff in developing effective clinical interventions, and maintains a reduced but active clinical caseload. They support staff competency development through coaching, role modeling, observation, and feedback on clinical skills and ethical practice. Additionally, the Lead Therapist assists in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, clinical initiatives, and evidence-based practices. They regularly present educational workshops internally and externally, facilitate groups, and serve as a content expert in designated clinical specialty areas, completing necessary utilization review information. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in human services is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years working in the behavioral health field required.
  • CAC required.
  • Experience in lifespan developmental issues for their respective populations.
  • 5 years of experience in facilitating group therapy required.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience required. (Supervision of interns, co-facilitate group supervision, help train new staff, reach out to potential admissions, managing tracking sheet, i.e.)

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure is preferred.
  • Specialty training preferred (MI, DBT, Art Therapy, MBSR, CPT, CBT, and Trauma).
  • If in recovery, 2 years of uninterrupted sobriety preferred.

  • Maintain a reduced, but active, clinical caseload where all responsibilities of a Behavioral Health Therapist will be met.
  • Support staff for competency development through coaching, role modeling, observation, and feedback regarding clinical skills and ethical practice.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, clinical initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
