Lead Teacher - First Class Pre K

About The Position

Big Blue Marble Academy is hiring a full-time Lead Teacher for its First Class Pre K program. The role teaches a play-based curriculum that helps children explore the world beyond their community while learning developmentally appropriate skills and concepts. The teacher builds rapport with families, shares children’s milestones through electronic daily reports, and follows enhanced safety guidelines to keep the classroom clean and safe. The stated shift is 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The academy describes a teamwork-oriented, inclusive work community and offers on-the-job training and career advancement opportunities, including a potential career path from Assistant Teacher to Center Director. Employment is contingent on completing background checks, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding. Employment is at-will.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Have a high school diploma or GED.
Have an Early Childhood Education degree (B.S., B.A., or M.A./M.S.), or a Human Environmental Science degree with a concentration in Early Childhood Development or Child Development.
Have at least six months of experience working in child care, daycare, or preschool.
Be able to stand six to eight hours daily and stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, and perform similar movements while working with children.
Be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Be able to visually supervise children at all times.
Successfully complete the background check, pre-hire screenings, and onboarding processes.
