About The Position
River Ferns Academy in Fairfield, Ohio, part of the Otter Learning family of schools, is hiring a Lead Teacher for a toddler or preschool classroom. The school supports children’s curiosity and lifelong love of learning through a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum in a nurturing environment. The position is Monday through Friday, with no weekends.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old, per Ohio requirements.
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in a licensed early childhood education setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine love of working with children.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Ohio Early Learning Standards.
- Create a safe, welcoming classroom where children feel respected and encouraged.
- Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through structured and play-based activities.
- Maintain classroom routines and promote positive behavior.
- Observe, assess, and document children’s progress, and share updates with families.
- Follow all health, hygiene, and safety protocols.
- Work with fellow teachers and take part in ongoing professional development.
