Lead Systems/Simulation Architect

Trideum Corporation•Fort Belvoir, VA

About The Position

Trideum Corporation is seeking a highly experienced Lead Systems/Simulation Architect to direct the design and integration of a multi-environment federated simulation architecture supporting Army acquisition and operational experimentation. The role will architect a tri-environment federation spanning OneSAF, digital twins, and communications and network models, ensuring coherent, synchronized, and scalable system interoperability. The architect will serve as the primary technical liaison to Government OneSAF and communications engineering teams, providing authoritative guidance on interface standards, architecture design, and integration planning. The position leads end-to-end architecture design and evolution, directs the creation and configuration management of Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and applies distributed simulation standards to support interoperability, aligned time management, and deterministic simulation behavior. It also involves SysML-based architectural modeling, oversight of API integration strategies, and collaboration with engineering teams to validate architecture decisions through modeling, prototyping, and multi-lab integration events. The architect advises program leadership on technical risk, architecture readiness, and compliance with Government interoperability standards. Minimal travel is required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (M.S.) in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in API integration, SysML behavioral modeling, and simulation interface design.
  • 10+ years of experience in distributed military simulation architectures (DIS, HLA, TENA, Bifrost), cross-platform federation, and large-scale simulation system integration.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and serve as a senior technical liaison to Government counterparts.
  • Active Secret clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting Army modeling and simulation programs.
  • Background in tactical networking, RF modeling, or digital engineering environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud-enabled simulation architectures and CI/CD integration pipelines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and evolution of the end-to-end tri-environment integration architecture (OneSAF–DE–COMMS).
  • Direct the development, refinement, and configuration management of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) governing data exchange, federation behaviors, and synchronization requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical advisor and integration lead working directly with Government OneSAF and COMMS engineering teams.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of distributed simulation standards to ensure interoperability, time management alignment, and deterministic simulation behavior.
  • Conduct SysML-based architectural modeling to document behaviors, system interactions, data pathways, and interface dependencies.
  • Oversee API integration strategies supporting multi-platform interoperability and real-time exchange of kinematic, RF, and tactical network data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to validate architecture decisions through modeling, prototyping, and multi-lab integration events.
  • Advise program leadership on technical risk, architecture readiness, and compliance with Government interoperability standards.
  • Undertake minimal travel.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
  • 401k matching.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
  • Paid leave and the ability to cash out leave.
  • Free access to certified financial planners, wellness and support services, and discount programs.
  • Education assistance and professional development opportunities.
  • Competitive pay based on the work performed rather than previous salary.
