GDIT is hiring a Lead Systems Engineering Architect to support the Department of Defense and the Air Force’s cyber defense mission. This role serves as the authoritative technical architecture lead for a hybrid enterprise, responsible for designing, governing, and maintaining its architecture, including physical and logical boundaries, data flows, and cloud-to-on-premises networking. The position conducts independent Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), integrating technology assessments, costs, and trade-offs, and maintains enterprise architecture artifacts aligned with Department of War strategic directives, including the Joint Cyber Warfighting Architecture (JCWA). The architect owns the digital-twin discipline by developing, governing, and maintaining authoritative MBSE models of a large defensive cyber hybrid enterprise architecture. Models must accurately reflect physical, logical, and security boundaries, interoperate with JCWA, and stay synchronized with real-world changes through deployment feedback and configuration audits. The role requires advanced MBSE and SysML tooling expertise, enterprise architecture framework knowledge, and hybrid cloud/on-premises network design capability. The architect leads rigorous AoAs, prepares cost-benefit analyses and technical justifications, and supports Engineering Review Boards, Architecture Review Boards, and Change Control Boards. The position requires daily SCIF access for work with classified architecture baselines and JCWA integration data. The role is based in the San Antonio, Texas region, with onsite work at Lackland AFB and 10–25% travel.
