We are seeking a Full-Time Lead Sterile Processing Technician for the Evenings shift (Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:00pm) to support the Sterile Processing Department at Baptist Jacksonville. This role offers up to a $1,000 sign-on bonus. The Lead Sterile Processing Technician will oversee daily operations of Prep and Sterile, ensuring proper cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments and supplies. This role also involves leading and training other SPD technicians, maintaining quality control, and collaborating with the SPD manager for workflow and regulatory compliance. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years Instrument Experience
  • 1-2 years Surgical Instrumentation Experience
  • Linen Processing Experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory protocols.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST). Required
  • Or Certification Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) Required

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of Prep and Sterile, ensuring the proper cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of medical instruments and supplies.
  • Leads and trains other SPD technicians.
  • Maintains quality control standards.
  • Collaborates with the SPD manager to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Participates in the decontamination, inspection, cleaning, assembling, and packaging of surgical linens, surgical instrumentations, medical/surgical supplies, materials, and equipment.
  • Have knowledge of all types of sterilization equipment and processes they perform.
  • Understands principles of sterilization.
  • Wraps instruments/linen properly, while selecting correct supplies to be used for sterilization.
  • Able to collaborate and prioritize duties for quality and efficiency.
