The role is to partner with the Vertical and New Logo sales teams to further identify, grow and embed our oil, gas and power trading solutions product suite across our existing customer base and new logos. The role will be responsible for growing our trading solutions business across Americas. The Product Sales Specialist (PSS) will report into the Head of Trading Solutions Specialist Sales. You will be instrumental in assisting the sales team achieve its sales targets as well as ensuring knowledge transfer across the business. We are looking to diversify our talent pool and bring in best practice from other industries to enable us to reach our ambitious growth targets. Requirements

  • Have significant experience in client-facing, pre-sales, or technical / solution specialist roles.
  • Have experience engaging with oil, gas and power trading desks and a strong understanding of their workflows.
  • Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the oil, gas and power trading sector.
  • Have an extensive commercial track record in supporting client development and acting as a trusted subject-matter expert.
  • Be a self-motivated and energetic individual, solution-oriented and results-oriented.
  • Have a proven track record of collaborating with different internal teams to achieve commercial success.
  • Demonstrate outstanding judgment in resource utilisation and optimisation.
  • Be passionate about growing the business and have a genuine interest in developing and growing yourself.
  • Have an intellectual curiosity about how data and analysis solve critical business issues.
  • Show effective organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage own workload effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Product and sector expertise: Develop a deep understanding of the value of our trading solutions products to our customers and a good understanding of the oil, gas and power trading sectors to support new business identification. Act as an internal ambassador for the trading solutions business, supporting communication of product enhancements and market developments across the organisation and working with teams including sales, customer education, customer success, marketing, research and consulting.
  • Growth mindset: Partner closely with Account Management colleagues to identify and develop new commercial opportunities within existing customer accounts by understanding client workflows, uncovering unmet needs, identifying new buying centres, and demonstrating the breadth of Wood Mackenzie’s trading solutions suite to address those requirements. Collaborate with New Logo Sales team to support new business opportunities across the sales cycle, including qualification, validation, and understanding customer needs, while demonstrating the breadth of Wood Mackenzie’s trading solutions and how they solve clear customer problems.
  • Territory planning: Develop, regularly maintain, and own a sales plan for your territory. Identify key growth markets, needle moving opportunities, and risks within your existing portfolio to plan your time effectively and develop a sales strategy and tactics. Collaborate with other stakeholders to build and execute on your plan, including Account Management, New Logo Sales, other Product Sales colleagues, Customer Success, Research, and Consulting.
  • Product development collaboration: Work closely with the Product and Research teams to help shape the trading solutions product development roadmap based on customer feedback, your experience and knowledge of customer workflows, and relevant competitor intelligence. Support new trading solutions product and service development launches.
