About The Position

The Lead Specialist Materials maintains warehouse and stores stock across Material Operations areas to ensure adequate material supplies for workload. Reporting to the Material Operations Supervisor within the respective BlueCity, this role delegates, leads, and guides the daily work of Material Specialists. It may occasionally act as Supervisor when the Supervisor is off duty or away from the BlueCity. The position performs inventory, training, scheduling, reporting, and material-handling duties in support of logistics and aircraft operations.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
One year of experience in material specialist work or warehousing.
Pass and maintain ratings and be able to drive forklifts (4K to 18K), tugs, trucks, and other vehicles.
Successfully pass Materials and General Maintenance Manual training courses.
Depending on location, pass an IATA- or DOT-approved Hazardous Material Training Course and maintain recurrent training.
Ability to use handheld two-way radios, headsets, and/or a phone.
Available for overnight travel (10%).
Valid travel documents and ability to travel in and out of the United States.
Able to work flexible shifts, travel, and/or work variable hours, including holidays and weekends.
Able to acquire and maintain a valid SIDA Badge for all Blue Material cities.
Valid driver license and driving record meeting JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards.
Depending on location, ability to acquire and maintain United States Customs Clearance.
Pass a ten-year background check and pre-employment drug test.
Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located; U.S. work authorization is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.
Regular attendance and punctuality; potential availability for flexible hours and short-notice response.
Maintain a professional appearance and demonstrate appropriate fit with JetBlue’s culture and values.
Able to perform strenuous physical work, including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently.
Use of ChatGPT or another automated tool during the interview process is prohibited and will disqualify a candidate.

Responsibilities

Lead, guide, and approve Material Specialists’ work to ensure compliance within the Materials team.
Review performance and assign daily tasks to Material Specialists within the respective BlueCity.
Occasionally act as Supervisor when the Supervisor is off duty, on PTO, or away from the BlueCity.
Train and assign work to Material Specialists; provide one-on-one crewmember training and review daily functions and activities.
Visit other BlueCities to provide training and support as needed.
Maintain inventory accuracy and Dangerous Goods documentation using the inventory control system.
Conduct inventory audits, create monthly reports, and maintain Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration, and Travel Certificates Standards.
Research and gather data using various programs to conduct daily briefings about workload, safety issues, and operational status.
Schedule crewmembers according to operational needs.
Receive, bin, and ship materials.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Promote safety and report safety or security concerns, issues, incidents, and hazards through available reporting channels.
Adhere to applicable laws, regulations, company policies, procedures, and risk controls.
