The Lead Software Test Engineer is responsible for driving the overall quality strategy of our software products by leading a team of testers while also remaining hands-on in test planning and execution. This role ensures that testing practices are robust, efficient, and aligned with project goals, directly influencing release reliability, team performance, and customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering and is part of the R&D Software team located in Indianapolis, Indiana and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Lead, coach, and develop a team of software test engineers, serving as their direct manager and providing ongoing performance feedback and career development support. Design, implement, and continuously improve test strategies, frameworks, and processes across multiple projects. Perform hands-on testing activities, including test planning, test case development, execution, and defect analysis, to ensure high quality releases. Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and project teams to align testing efforts with business priorities and release goals. Introduce and champion best practices in automation, continuous integration, and quality metrics. Drive root cause analysis and quality improvements that reduce defects and increase release reliability. Influence technical direction and quality standards across the organization through data driven insights and strong cross team communication.
