Tradition - Lead Server
About The Position
Tradition is an independent and assisted living community in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and part of Transforming Age. The Lead Server is an integral member of the Dining Services team, supporting front-of-house operations and providing residents with enjoyable meals, conversation, and care. The role helps create an extraordinary dining experience and may suit someone who enjoys working with people and wants to grow their career. The position pays $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years of previous serving experience in a restaurant, hotel, or similar setting.
- Detail-oriented, efficient, collaborative, and dedicated to excellent service.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for serving guests and team members.
- Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
- Basic computer proficiency to process point-of-sale and other transactions.
- Completion of a background check and drug screen; other pre-employment tasks, such as a physical, TB test, and fingerprinting, may be required under state or local guidelines.
Nice To Haves
- Senior living experience is strongly preferred.
- One to two years of previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Support Dining Services staff with front-of-house duties.
- Facilitate an extraordinary dining experience for residents.
- Set up tables and maintain cleanliness and presentation standards.
- On occasion, set up and prepare food items.
- Keep food and beverage areas organized and fully stocked.
- Know the menu for each meal, ensure items are available, and answer residents’ questions.
- Assist residents with meal service as requested or needed.
- On occasion, serve meals alongside the service team.
- Promote the Mission, Vision, and Values of Transforming Age and its Affiliates.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
