About The Position

The Lead SEL Teacher (Hooks) will serve as an exemplary teacher and instructional leader within the relevant content area. Their classroom will function as a model for effective instruction. This role involves a full teaching load alongside responsibilities in planning and facilitating new teacher orientation, professional development sessions, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). The lead teacher will also manage the ordering of materials, distribute resources, and organize common assessments and testing materials. A key aspect of the role is data analysis, leading teacher teams in interpreting assessment data to guide instruction, and supporting the development of common assessments aligned with Massachusetts Frameworks. The position requires active participation in various professional development activities, including PLCs, faculty meetings, and professional learning academies. Additional duties may be assigned by the principal, and responsibilities may extend beyond the regular school day and school year.

Requirements

Experienced and licensed teacher.
Demonstrated exemplary teaching skills.
Demonstrated instructional leadership skills in the relevant content area.

Responsibilities

Serve as a model classroom for effective instruction.
Plan and facilitate new teacher orientation sessions.
Plan and facilitate professional development sessions.
Plan and facilitate PLCs.
Budget and order materials.
Gather and distribute professional and technical resource materials.
Organize common and standardized assessments, timelines and testing materials.
Collect data and lead teacher teams in analyzing assessment data to inform instruction.
Support the development of common assessments.
Support the implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks.
Plan, facilitate and/or participate in PLCs, faculty meetings, PD, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies and new teacher days as needed.
Participate as a team member of ILT and Middle School Department PLCs.
Perform additional duties as determined by the principal.
Fulfill responsibilities that extend beyond the regular school day/school year.
