Lead – SEL Teacher (Kelly) (Internal Only) (SY26-27)
About The Position
The Lead SEL Teacher will serve as an exemplary teacher and instructional leader within the school. Their classroom will be a model for effective instruction. This role involves a full teaching load, planning and facilitating new teacher orientation, professional development sessions, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). The lead teacher will also manage budgets and order materials, gather and distribute professional resources, and organize assessments and testing materials. A key responsibility is collecting and analyzing assessment data with teacher teams to inform instruction, supporting the development of common assessments and the implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks. The lead teacher will plan, facilitate, and participate in various professional development activities, including PLCs, faculty meetings, and academies. They will also be a team member of the Instructional Leadership Team (ILT) and Middle School Department PLCs. Additional duties may be assigned by the principal, and responsibilities may extend beyond the regular school day/year.
Requirements
- Experienced and licensed teacher.
- Demonstrated exemplary teaching skills.
- Demonstrated instructional leadership skills in the relevant content area.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a model classroom for effective instruction.
- Plan and facilitate new teacher orientation sessions.
- Plan and facilitate professional development sessions.
- Plan and facilitate PLCs.
- Budget and order materials.
- Gather and distribute professional and technical resource materials.
- Organize common and standardized assessments, timelines, and testing materials.
- Collect data and lead teacher teams in analyzing assessment data to inform instruction.
- Support the development of common assessments and implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks.
- Plan, facilitate, and/or participate in PLCs, faculty meetings, PD, Chelsea Professional Learning Academies, and new teacher days.
- Participate as a team member of ILT and Middle School Department PLCs.
- Perform additional duties as determined by the principal.
- Fulfill responsibilities that extend beyond the regular school day/school year.
