The Lead SEL Teacher will serve as an exemplary teacher and instructional leader within the Berko school. Their classroom will be a model for effective instruction. This role involves a full teaching load, planning and facilitating new teacher orientation, professional development sessions, and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). The lead teacher will also manage budgets and order materials, gather and distribute professional resources, and organize common assessments and timelines. A key responsibility is collecting and analyzing assessment data with teacher teams to inform instruction, supporting the development of common assessments and the implementation of Massachusetts Frameworks. The lead teacher will participate in various meetings and professional development activities, including ILT and Middle School Department PLCs, and undertake additional duties as assigned by the principal. Responsibilities may extend beyond the regular school day and school year.
