About The Position

The Hospital Security Lead provides frontline leadership and operational oversight for daily security functions to ensure a safe, secure, and compliant environment for patients, visitors, staff, and property. This position supports regulatory compliance with Joint Commission standards and NFPA 99 requirements related to security management, life safety, and incident reporting. The Security Lead serves as the shift lead, primary point of contact during assigned shifts, and assists with training, performance monitoring, and incident management.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid CLEET Armed Security Officer
Valid Driver’s License
IAHSS Basic level (within 6 months of hire)
BLS (within 60 days of hire)
CPI (within 90 days of hire)
Maintain annual firearm and handcuffing certification
OC gel spray certification

Nice To Haves

1 year of security experience
Ability to communicate courteously and effectively with patients, visitors, staff, contractors, governmental agencies, and vendors.
Ability to confront adverse and potential hostile situations and resolve tactfully and safely.
Skill and ability to make quick decisions and apply safety and security knowledge in emergency situations.
Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
