About The Position

The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Lead Product Management Specialist to join the team in Seattle, WA; Hazelwood, MO; North Charleston, SC; Plano, TX; Ridley Park, PA; or Seal Beach, CA. This individual will be the single-threaded product leader for an enterprise, Cloud Service Provider (CSP)-agnostic, Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enhanced managed cloud platform spanning seven services across three pillars (Modernize, Run, Operate). The platform serves commercial, United States (U.S.) government (IL4/IL5), and sovereign/disconnected environments across Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, and Google Cloud. This senior individual contributor has product authority (no direct reports) and acts as the “Product Chief Executive Officer (CEO)” setting the integrated vision, prioritizing cross-service work, and resolving roadmap conflicts across pillar Product Managers (PMs). Your mission is to deliver a coherent platform that lets application teams inherit ~80% of compliance controls, compresses Authorization to Operate (ATO) timelines from months to weeks, and reduces cloud spend by 15–25% in the first 90 days.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with technical product management
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS or Azure), infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform), and automation tools (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chef etc.)
  • Experience with product strategy, development, and support
  • Experience with cloud security frameworks and compliance standards such as National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP), Department of Defense Security Requirements Guide (DoD SRG), and Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides (DISA STIGs)
  • Experience in cloud platform engineering and/or product management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Aerospace & Defense, Federal IT, or a similarly regulated industry
  • Experience defining and defending a product business case to Vice President (VP)-level and Chief (C)-level executives, including financial modeling
  • Experience influencing without direct authority across product managers, architects, and engineering leads
  • Experience in Financial Operations (FinOps) practices and cloud spend governance at enterprise scale
  • Experience with Kubernetes-based platforms, container orchestration, and managed runtime services
  • Experience with AI/Machine Learning (ML)-driven operations (Artificial Intelligence Operations (AIOps), autonomous remediation, predictive scaling) and how AI capabilities are productized within a platform
  • Experience with golden image lifecycle management, automated patching, and infrastructure-as-code at scale
  • Experience installing or operating a product operating model (planning cadences, Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), discovery frameworks) across a multi-team product organization

Responsibilities

  • Own the integrated product vision and strategy for the managed cloud platform, ensuring seven service lines across three pillars deliver a unified value proposition to internal application teams and external program stakeholders
  • Set cross-service prioritization and sequencing, resolving conflicts between pillar roadmaps (e.g., when modernization service demand outpaces runtime onboarding capacity, or when compliance automation timelines constrain operations feature releases)
  • Define the platform's fit within Boeing which programs onboard first, what the minimum viable platform looks like for each classification level, and how the platform evolves from pilot to enterprise-wide adoption
  • Hold product authority over pillar product managers
  • Provide direction to the Senior PM for operations services
  • Coordinate with the Lead PM for runtime platforms, and align with the senior manager who dual-hats as modernization pillar PM
  • Partner with the Senior Technical Program Manager to translate product priorities into an executable integrated plan with clear milestones, dependencies, and decision gates
  • Define and own the platform's control inheritance model, the mechanism by which application teams inherit approximately 80% of required security controls (NIST 800-53, Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP)) directly from the platform, working with the senior manager accountable for compliance outcomes
  • Drive the platform's business case across key value levers Direct cloud spend optimization, labor arbitrage through shared platform services, Authority to Operate (ATO) acceleration as a revenue accelerator, competitive win-rate improvement, and shadow Information Technology (IT) elimination
  • Establish and track platform-level Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that span individual services including time-to-ATO, platform adoption rate, control inheritance percentage, cloud spend reduction, engineering toil reduction (from 60%+ baseline), and customer satisfaction across defense and commercial programs
  • Engage directly with program managers, chief engineers, and executive leadership to validate platform direction, drive adoption, and present Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Ensure feature parity and deployment sequencing across commercial cloud, government cloud (Impact Level 4 and Impact Level 5 (IL4/IL5)), and sovereign/disconnected environments where deployment logistics, available services, and compliance postures differ fundamentally

  • health insurance
  • flexible spending accounts
  • health savings accounts
  • retirement savings plans
