About The Position
The Lead Pre-Analytic at MMC Portland represents the organization in patient settings and serves as a liaison. The role performs pre-analytical functions including specimen collection and phlebotomy, specimen processing, specialty testing, order entry, waived testing, quality control, and specialty collection. The lead monitors workflow efficiency, helps resolve concerns, and primarily supports orientation of new team members. The position also emphasizes mentoring and coaching staff, supporting excellent phlebotomy practice, solving problems, improving workflows, and creating efficiencies that improve the employee and patient experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience in phlebotomy and specimen management.
- Valid driver's license.
- May be asked to work at other sites or locations as needed.
Nice To Haves
- PBT/MLA certification from ASCP, AMT, or NHA.
- One year of experience as a Medical Laboratory Assistant.
Responsibilities
- Represent the organization in patient settings and serve as a liaison.
