About The Position

International SOS Government Medical Services provides medical and security support solutions for government, military, and contractor personnel operating in complex environments worldwide. We are seeking an experienced Lead Paramedic to support overseas medical operations. This position is ideal for a strong EMT-P leader with experience in emergency response, EMS operations, and clinical training who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. The Lead Paramedic serves as the senior on-site EMS professional supporting emergency medical operations. This role combines advanced paramedic response, EMS leadership, operational oversight, personnel mentoring, and clinical training responsibilities in a high-performance overseas setting.

Requirements

  • Current U.S. state Paramedic license with National Registry EMT-P certification or unrestricted equivalent licensure
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • Advanced trauma certification such as PHTLS, ITLS, TCCC, or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years of paramedic experience
  • Experience in EMS instruction, field training, or clinical education
  • Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress emergency environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Certification from an accredited Paramedic training program
  • Ability to meet pre-deployment physical requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder
  • Valid U.S. Passport with minimum 18 months remaining before expiration
  • Ability to obtain and maintain MRPT security clearance eligibility
  • Ability to relocate overseas for assignment duration
  • Strong English written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee on-site EMS operations
  • Provide advanced emergency medical care and emergency response support
  • Supervise and mentor EMTs and paramedics
  • Perform advanced paramedic procedures including IV insertion, IO access, intubation, medication administration, blood draws, and ECG interpretation
  • Develop and conduct EMS training, simulation exercises, continuing education, and competency assessments
  • Maintain EMS readiness through drills, emergency exercises, and equipment checks
  • Support case reviews, after-action reviews, and clinical quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain personnel certification, training, and compliance records
  • Assist with EMS scheduling and operational staffing coverage
  • Maintain patient care documentation, medical records, and inventory management
  • Collaborate with Emergency Management, Safety, and Training departments
  • Maintain and update paramedic protocols with the Medical Director
  • Serve as liaison with the EMS Medical Director for clinical oversight and guidance
  • Cross-train and support clinic, emergency room, and inpatient operations as needed
  • Complete all required compliance and deployment-related training
