About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Lead Paramedic to support overseas medical operations in Iraq. This position is ideal for a strong EMT-P leader with experience in emergency response, EMS operations, and clinical training who thrives in fast-paced, mission-driven environments. International SOS Government Medical Services provides medical and security support solutions for government, military, and contractor personnel operating in complex environments worldwide. Position Overview The Critical Care Paramedic (CCP) provides advanced life support, emergency response, and critical care transport services for U.S. government personnel stationed in Iraq. This role involves managing high-acuity medical and trauma cases in pre-hospital, clinic, emergency room, and inpatient settings while collaborating with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Requirements

  • Current U.S. state Paramedic license and National Registry EMT-P certification or equivalent unrestricted credential.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Advanced trauma certification such as PHTLS, ITLS, TCCC, or equivalent.
  • Current CCP-C certification and/or FP-C certification required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Paramedic program.
  • Experience working in high-stress emergency environments with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements, including ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder required.
  • Valid U.S. Passport with at least 18 months before expiration.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an MRPT security clearance.
  • Must be willing and able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the assignment.
  • Must read, write, and speak English fluently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on military sites as a government subcontractor or prime contractor.
  • Previous overseas, tactical EMS, flight medicine, or critical care transport experience.
  • Prior experience supporting DoD, DoS, or federal healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced life support and critical care during emergency responses and patient transports.
  • Assess, triage, stabilize, and manage critically ill or injured patients in pre-hospital environments.
  • Perform advanced airway management, including intubation and ventilation support.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and critical care infusions per established protocols.
  • Operate advanced medical equipment including cardiac monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and 12-lead ECG systems.
  • Manage trauma, respiratory emergencies, cardiac arrest, chest injuries, and complex medical cases.
  • Perform advanced resuscitation procedures and intraosseous (IO) access placement.
  • Assist medical providers with procedures and patient care within scope of practice.
  • Document patient assessments, treatments, medications, and vital signs accurately in EMR systems.
  • Maintain medical supply inventory and restock clinical areas.
  • Cross-train within clinics, emergency rooms, and inpatient units.
  • Participate in ongoing training, competency assessments, and compliance programs.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership support to EMS personnel.
